PNP chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil has designated Manila Police District (MPD) director Brig. Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay as officer-in-charge of the recently-activated Negros Island Regional Police Office (RPO).
Ibay will succeed Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky, who served as officer-in-charge of the Negros Island RPO last March 27 when the office was activated.
The Negros Island RPO was activated months after President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr signed a bill into law creating the region.
Wanky held the post in a concurrent capacity as the director of the Western Visayas Regional Police.
Ibay took over as MPD director in October 2023 while still a colonel. He was promoted to brigadier general in January last year.
Brig. Gen. Benigno Guzman was designated as Ibay’s successor as MPD director. Guzman is the outgoing senior executive assistant (SEA) at the office of the PNP chief.
Col. Aladin Collado was named as the SEA, vice Guzman.
Collado is currently the director of the plans and program division at the PNP Directorate for Plans. The PNP has yet to announce who will take over the soon-to-be vacated post of Collado.
