THE Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) has started integrating the No Contact Apprehension Policy (NCAP) services in the e-GovPH application to make it easier for motorists to monitor and settle fines for traffic violations.
DICT Undersecretary David Almirol Jr., in a briefing in Malacanang, said they have already met with the representatives of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) over the integration of NCAP-related features into the eGovPH platform.
“So pag-natapos po ‘yung integration, ang ganda po nito kasi makikita mo na doon kung ilan na po ‘yung violation mo. At kahit nasa bahay ka na rin pwede mong i-settle na rin ‘yung penalty mo (Once the integration is done, this would be a good feature because you would see how many violations you have. And even in the comfort of your home, you can settle the penalties),” Almirol said.
He said that once integrated into the EGovPH app, motorists would be able to check their list of violations along with photos or videos of where and when they were committed.
He said it would also be useful when renewing driver’s licenses.
The eGovPH app is a government initiative to consolidate various government services into a single platform. Several agencies have already linked their online platforms to the app.
Almirol said nearly 1,000 government systems have been linked to the app, which include services related to digital identification such as the national id, senior citizen id, Professional Regulatory Commission id, overseas Filipino workers’ id as well as for other services related to tourism, agriculture, and benefits from agencies such as the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) and the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS).
On the national ID, Almirol said around 93 million have already been registered and issued IDs, but only 87 million are currently accessible in the eGovPH app.
He said the rest are still being vetted and integrated into the system.
