NBI accepting applications to agents’ training program

THE National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has opened its doors to qualified individuals willing to undergo its rigorous basic training program to become agents.

The recruitment for new NBI agents under the Agents’ Basic Training Program is part of the agency’s effort to “enhance its capabilities in the detection and investigation of crimes.”

“The NBI Agents’ Basic Training Program is a mandatory requirement for qualified applicants who aspire to become NBI Agents, as prescribed under Republic Act No. 10867, otherwise known as the ‘NBI Reorganization and Modernization Law,’” the NBI Academy said in a statement.

Graduates of the program are equipped with essential skills and knowledge, enabling them to fulfill their duties within the NBI’s jurisdiction as the country’s premier investigative agency.

The agency said those who want to join its ranks as agents may send their applications through https://forms.gle/NcqooF1NzFcQXEe38 until June 20 this year.

Last March, NBI Director Jaime Santiago said the agency is beefing up its cybercrime unit with additional personnel to intensify the drive against Internet-related crimes.

Santiago announced the move as he presided over the graduation of 44 new agents comprising Batch 52 of graduates of the NBI Academy.
