MWO-Dubai to test online OFW contract verification system

THE Migrant Workers Office- Dubai and Northern Emirates (MWO-Dubai) will pilot test starting today, Monday, the online contract verification system, which will make it easier for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) to have their employment contracts verified.

In its Advisory No. 18-2025, the MWO-Dubai said the pilot implementation of the online contract verification system will run for 30 days and will cover OFWs in Dubai, Ajman, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, Sharjah, and Umm Al Quwain.

“This fast, secure, and hassle-free system will provide an option to OFWs to apply for contract verification wherever they are and have their employment contract verified faster and without having to travel to MWO-Dubai,” said MWO-Dubai.

It stressed that the online mechanism is only an additional option for covered OFWs.

“They still have the opportunity to have their employment documents verified manually at MWO-Dubai,” it said.

For the pilot implementation, the system will initially accept 200 applications from Monday to Friday, starting at 8 a.m. and will automatically close once the limit is reached or at 11:59 p.m. on the same day, whichever comes first.

“The daily limit may be increased over time depending on the availability of evaluators and system capacity,” said MWO-Dubai.

The standard time for the contact verification process is three working days from the date of application, subject to the submission of correct and complete documents and payment of appropriate fees on time.

“If correct and complete documents are submitted and the verification fee is paid right after receipt of notice of payment, then the applicant will be able to download his/her verified contract in the system, and view his/her overseas employment certificate (OEC) in the DMW portal within the three working days,” said MWO-Dubai.

It said the system, which can be accessed via https://mwodubai.org/online-contract-verification/, will still be evaluated after the pilot testing to determine the feasibility of its implementation as an efficient contract verification option.

“Thus, OFW feedback in the feedback survey at the end of the application will be essential,” noted MWO-Dubai.

Contract verification is a process that ensures that there is an actual job and employer for the OFW, and that the provisions in the contract meet the minimum requirements of the Department of Migrant Workers and of the host government.
