THE Metropolitan Manila Development Authority yesterday advised motorists to avoid the World Trade Center from August 26 to 28 and the SMX Convention Center on August 30 due to the expected volume of traffic in those areas as they will host the 14th WorldSkills Asean Manila 2025.
The event, convened by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, will be held from August 21 to 31.
“Motorists are advised to avoid the said venues as the event is expected to draw over thousands of attendees, including competition participants, students, teachers, representatives from the education and government sectors, industry partners, and the public,” the MMDA said in an advisory.
The agency said it will deploy 85 personnel to implement traffic management measures along key routes in Metro Manila from the airport to billeting facilities, competition venues and other official engagement areas.
MMDA Chairperson Romando Artes said they are also coordinating with the Philippine National Police, local traffic management units, and concerned government agencies to ensure a safe and traffic problem-free event.
