THE Bangsamoro Party (BAPA), the political party of the Moro National Liberation Front, has endorsed the senatorial bid of independent candidate Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino.
Aquino was likewise endorsed by actor Dingdong Dantes and Nueva Ecija Gov. Oyie Umali and other local officials.
Aquino, in a statement, said the Bangsamoro Party, led by Muslimin Sema, has aired its support for his senatorial bid due to his advocacy to bring progress and development in the Mindanao region and his commitment to strengthen the autonomy of Muslim Mindanao.
The BAPA has an estimated 500,000 documented members in the Bangamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
On the other hand, Umali and other provincial officials vouched for Aquino’s unblemished leadership, supported his advocacy to push for more benefits for students under the free college education program.
Dantes, in a Facebook post, cited Aquino’s integrity and track record in endorsing his Senate candidacy.
“With the final stretch of his campaign coming up, I wanted to personally wish him well and hear how he’s doing,” Dantes, who campaigned and supported Aquino in his 2019 and 2022 senatorial bids, said.
The “Kapuso Prime Time King” recalled his decades-old friendship with Aquino, which he said dates back to their grade school days when the former senator was simply known as “Bam-bam.”
“But beyond all that, what I’ve always respected and admired about Bam is his integrity, consistency, clear vision, and a track record that speaks for itself — all anchored by a genuine heart for service,” Dantes said.
“Now that we’re both fathers, our conversations naturally drift toward family — our kids, and the future we hope to help shape for them. It’s always reassuring to catch up with friends who stay true to their purpose and continue to find ways to turn hope into action,” he added.
Aside from Aquino, the actor also backed the senatorial bid of former senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, who was likewise endorsed by the 17 mayors of Laguna.
Pangilinan thanked the local officials for their support.
“Tayo’y lubos na nagpapasalamat sa mga endorsement na ating nakuha dito sa Laguna. Napakalaking bagay nito, lalo’t ilang araw na lang ay halalan na (I am grateful for the endorsements that I got here from Laguna. This means so much especially now that Election Day is nearing),” he said.
“Makakaasa kayo na tututukan natin ang lalo pang pagpapalakas sa sektor ng agrikultura ng Laguna kapag tayo’y nakabalik sa Senado (Rest assured that I will focus on strengthening the agriculture sector in Laguna once I make it back to the Senate),” he added.
