ACTIVE members of the military and law enforcement agencies who are interested in taking the Civil Service Exam (CSE) to acquire eligibility for other government jobs will get a boost starting August 10.
The Civil Service Commission (CSC) yesterday announced that it will grant 10 bonus points to qualified military and uniformed personnel (MUP) if they decide to take the tests in the last quarter of the year.
“Starting August 10, if you take the CSE and score between 70.00 and 79.99, you may qualify for eligibility with the help of these additional points,” the commission said in its statement.
Among those who can avail of the privilege are personnel from the major branches of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), the PNP, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor), and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).
To be qualified, the applicant must have rendered at least 10 years of honorable service, have achieved very satisfactory (VS) ratings in the last two performance periods, and submit complete documents within six months from the release of CSE results.
“This new policy gives our nation’s protectors greater opportunities to transition into civilian government roles,” the CSC said.
In a separate announcement, the CSC said half-day flexiplace and half-day work suspension will be adopted on April 16 (Holy Wednesday) in the CSC central and regional offices in view of the coming regular holidays on April 17(Maundy Thursday) and April 18 (Good Friday).
It said the plan is expected to help ease traffic congestion, in anticipation of increased mobility across Metro Manila and regional areas, and to conserve electricity.
The CSC advised its offices with external frontline services to assign a skeleton workforce from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. to attend to clients and observe energy efficiency measures.
