THE military ordinariate of the Philippines yesterday offered prayers for and congratulated Maj. Gen. Nicolas Torre III who was appointed last week by President Marcos Jr as chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) vice retiring Gen. Rommel Marbil.
“The PNP chaplains and myself, the bishop of the military ordinariate, rally behind your leadership,” Bishop Oscar Jaime Florencio said in a radio interview.
“We shall support you through our prayers. May God keep you always in His loving embrace,” he added.
The military ordinariate holds jurisdiction over the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the Philippine National Police, the Philippine Coast Guard, and other branches of services of uniformed men and women.
Torre, director of the PNPs Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, is set to formally assume his new post today.
