The Marikina local government on Tuesday announced the extension of the deadline for the renewal of business permits from January 20 to June 30 without surcharges and penalties.
Mayor Marcelino “Marcy” Teodoro said the LGU recently pased City Ordinance No. 001 Series of 2025 or the Ordinance Extending the Renewal Period for Business Permits.
The ordinance aims to give traders a chance to pay their taxes without worrying about penalties or interest.
Teodoro added that sari sari stores and carienderia businesses with start-up capital of less than ₱10,000 are still tax exempted.
He also said that the LGU has increased the tax exemption from ₱180,000 to P250,000 annual gross receipts.
“This way, small business owners will be able to focus better in growing their business,” he said. Meanwhile, in Mandaluyong City, renewal of business permits has also been extended to January 24. San Juan, on the other hand, has made no announcement of an extension of their January 20 deadline for business permits renewal.
