Sara, Escudero ratings drop: OCTA Research

PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. obtained the highest trust and satisfaction rating among top officials of government, his ratings vastly improving in the July 12 to 17 Tugon ng Masa survey of OCTA Research.

The survey, which involved 1,200 adult respondents nationwide with a margin of error of ±3 percent, showed Marcos garnering a 64 percent trust rating, up from 60 percent in April, and a 62 percent satisfaction rating, up from 59 percent.

Vice President Sara Duterte and Senate President Francis Escudero saw their ratings drop by 4 to 6 percentage points, while Speaker Martin Romualdez improved by 3 to 4 percentage points.

Duterte received a 54 percent trust rating (down from 58 percent) and a 50 percent satisfaction rating (down from 56 percent), while Escudero scored a 51 percent trust rating (from 55 percent) and a 49 percent satisfaction rating (from 53 percent).

Romualdez’s trust rating rose to 57 percent (from 54 percent) and satisfaction rate to 59 percent (from 55 percent).

The President obtained majority trust ratings in Metro Manila (64 percent), Luzon (74 percent), and the Visayas (67 percent) and scored a trust rating of 40 percent in Mindanao. He also earned a majority trust rating across socio-economic classes at 66 percent among Class E, 64 percent among Class D, and 60 percent among Class ABC.

The Vice President scored a majority trust rating in Mindanao at 95 percent and the Visayas at 60 percent, followed by 40 percent in Metro Manila and 35 percent in Luzon. Majority of Class E (64 percent and D (53 percent) and a near majority (47 percent) also trust Duterte.

Escudero obtained majority trust among respondents from Luzon (57 percent) and classes E (56 percent) and D (52 percent) and a near majority from the Visayas (49 percent). Forty-six percent from Mindanao and 43 percent from Metro Manila and 32 percent from Class ABC trust Escudero.

Romualdez scored majority trust among those from the Visayas (66 percent), Luzon (62 percent) and Metro Manila (59 percent), followed by 36 percent in Mindanao; and from Classes E 61 (percent) and D (57 percent) followed by ABC (49 percent).

The TNM results showed that Escudero received the highest “distrust rating” among top government officials at 25 percent (up from 19 percent), followed by Duterte at 23 percent (up from 19 percent), Romualdez at 22 percent (from 24 percent and Marcos at 20 percent (from 23 percent).

The President scored his highest distrust rating in Mindanao at 34 percent, followed by the Visayas at 22 percent, Metro Manila at 21 percent, and Luzon at 13 percent; and among classes ABC at 23 percent, followed by D at 21 percent and E at 17 percent.

The Vice President obtained her highest distrust rating in Metro Manila at 36 percent, followed by Luzon at 33 percent, Visayas at 14 percent and Mindanao at 3 percent; and from Class E at 25 percent, followed by those from D at 23 percent and ABC at 21 percent.

Escudero received his highest distrust rating in Metro Manila at 29 percent, followed by Mindanao and the Visayas at 27 percent each and Luzon at 21 percent; and Classes ABC at 32 percent, followed by D at 24 percent and E at 23 percent.

The Speaker scored his highest distrust rating in Mindanao at 35 percent, followed by the Visayas at 23 percent, Metro Manila at 18 percent and Luzon at 16 percent; and Classes ABC at 25 percent, followed by D at 22 percent and E at 19 percent.
