PRESIDENT Marcos Jr. yesterday distributed early Christmas presents to children in conflict with the law (CICL), victim-survivors of sexual abuse and human trafficking, and children and senior citizens in street situations, who are staying in residential care facilities or halfway houses in Metro Manila.

The President, accompanied by Social Welfare Secretary Rex Gatchalian, visited the Marillac Hills – National Training School for Girls (NTSG) and the Haven for Women in Muntinlupa City that house minor girls (7 to 17 years old) who are CICL and victim-survivors of sexual abuse and human trafficking, and the Manila Boys Town in Marikina City that provides care and support to children and senior citizens in street situations in Manila.

Marcos distributed groceries and food packs, toiletries, medicines and vitamins, infant supplies, several sacks of 50-kilo rice, and blankets to the children and senior citizens at the said facilities.

“Even if we were hit by several typhoons, even if fire broke out in other places, we would still ensure that all of us, all Filipino, especially the young children, will still feel the Christmas holiday,” he said in Filipino during the distribution of presents at the NTSG and the Haven for Women.

Children at the center are provided a range of services to support their rehabilitation, such as formal education and practical skills development.

The President, at the Manila Boys Town event, said the government is doing all it can to ensure that Filipinos continue to feel the Christmas spirit and amid the hardships they have undergone.
