THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) has released the full list of 280 nominees of seven Regional Parliamentary Political Parties (RPPPs) participating in the May 2025 Bangsamoro Parliamentary Elections (BPE).

In its Resolution No. 11090, the Comelec en banc bared the names of the 40 nominees of each of the seven accredited RPPPs participating in the first ever regional parliamentary polls in the country.

Included in the list are the nominees of the Bangsamoro Party, Bangsamoro People’s (Raayat) Democratic Party, BARMM Grand Coalition, Mahardika Party, Moro Ako Party, Progresibong Bangsamoro Party, and United Bangsamoro Justice Party.

Each party has 40 nominees as mandated by the Bangsamoro Electoral Code.

According to the Comelec, all seven RPPPs were able to meet the requirement to have women nominees.

“The Bangsamoro Electoral Code provides that at least 30 percent of the 40 nominees of a party or coalition shall be party or coalition members, who are women,” it said.

The Bangsamoro Party has 32 percent female nominees; Bangsamoro People’s (Raayat) Democratic Party, 30 percent; BARMM Grand Coalition, 35 percent; Mahardika Party, 32 percent; Moro Ako Party, 62 percent, Progresibong Bangsamoro Party, 30 percent; and United Bangsamoro Justice Party, 30 percent.

Forty seats in the Bangsamoro Parliament are up for grabs in next year’s regional election.

Uncertainty, however, surrounds the BPE 2025 after the House of Representatives approved on final reading the bill postponing the Bangsamoro polls to May 2026.
