SEN. Jinggoy Estrada on Tuesday denied accusations that he was involved in anomalous government projects, specifically in flood control projects in Bulacan province.

Brice Ericson Hernandez, the assistant district engineer of Bulacan’s First Engineering District, told the House Infrastructure Committee that Senators Jinggoy Estrada and Joel Villanueva allegedly received at least 30 percent each in commissions from their flood control projects in the province.

Hernandez alleged Estrada got 30 percent of the total of his P355 million projects in Bulacan.

Estrada said Hernandez was lying and dared him to undergo a lie detector test “in public” to determine who between them is telling the truth.

Hernandez also told the House panel that Villanueva got 30 percent of a total of P600 million from flood control projects in 2023.

Rep. Terry Ridon (Bicol Saro party list), who is the chairman of the House joint panel, has assured Hernandez’s safety following his disclosure.

Hernandez claimed the commissions given to Estrada and Villanueva were coursed through former District Engineer Henry Alcantara, who allegedly collects the funds and delivers them to the lawmakers.

The allegations were made a day after contractors Cezarah Rowena “Sarah” Discaya and her husband, Pacifico “Curlee” II, named 17 congressmen, eight officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and a former government official as alleged recipients of “advance commissions” that they paid to get government projects.
