THE Judicial and Bar Council has opened applications for two vacancies in the Legal Education Board, particularly for the positions of regular members representing the Integrated Bar of the Philippines and the ranks of active law practitioners.
The vacancies came after the term of Lorenzo Reyes ended on January 14, 2024 and Salex Alibugha, whose term ended on January 14, 2025.
The JBC said interested applicants must submit their online applications on or before 4:30 p.m. on August 1, 2025.
“Applicants are reminded that the date of submission of the formal online application via the JBC online registration and application system shall be deemed as the date of filing of applications,” the JBC said.
The chairperson and regular members of the LEB are to be appointed by the President for a term of five years, without reappointment.
The LEB is an independent government agency created under Republic Act No. 7662, otherwise known as the Legal Education Reform Act of 1993, to regulate and ensure the quality of legal education in the country.
