THE Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) yesterday released eight names vying for the position of presiding justice of the Court of Tax Appeals (CTA).
This fills the vacancy when CTA Presiding Justice Roman Del Rosario retires on October 6, 2025 upon reaching the mandatory retirement age of 70.
The contenders for the position are Marlon Agaceta, Cresencio Aspiras Jr., Rosauro Angelito David, Vicky Fernandez, Marc Joseph Quirante, Marian Ivy Reyes-Fajardo, and Ma. Belen Ringpis-Liban, and Maria Rowena San Pedro.
The JBC, the body tasked by the Constitution to screen and vet nominees to the judiciary, also invited the public to submit their comments and concerns on the candidates on or before September 22, 2025.
The survey, the JBC said, can be accessed at https://jbc.judiciary.gov.ph/jbc-survey.
