JAPANESE Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru will make an official visit to the Philippines from April 29 to 30 for bilateral talks to improve ties between Manila and Tokyo.

The Presidential Communications Office said President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos will welcome Ishiba and his spouse, Mrs. Ishiba Yoshiko, in Malacanang, where they will be accorded welcome honors.

The President and the Prime Minister would hold bilateral talks, which are expected to discuss efforts that would deepen and improve economic and development cooperation, political and defense engagements, and people-to-people exchanges between Manila and Tokyo.
