THE Bureau of Immigration (BI) deployed newly trained immigration officers to strengthen its frontline services at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) terminals and major airports in the country to secure Philippine borders while ensuring efficient service for travelers.
Deployed were 30 graduates of the Border Control Officers’ Module (BCOM) I Class composed of 16 female and 14 male officers who completed their training in a ceremony at the BI’s head office in Intramuros last March 21.
“These new officers represent the future of Philippine immigration,” said BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado.
“Through rigorous training, they have developed the expertise needed to secure our borders while ensuring efficient service for travelers. Their deployment is a testament to our commitment to modernization and excellence,” he added.
The BI’s Learning and Development Section (LDS), under officer-in-charge Kryse Mende, reported that the graduates underwent five weeks of intensive training at the Philippine Immigration Academy training facility in Intramuros.
