TROPICAL depression “Huaning” exited the Philippine area of responsibility yesterday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

As of 10 a.m. yesterday, Huaning was some 880 km northeast of extreme northern Luzon.

Huaning, the country’s eight tropical cyclone for this year and third for this month, exited the PAR at 5 a.m. yesterday. It was moving north northeastward at 45 kph, packing maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 70 kph.

Huaning has not affected the country since developing into a tropical depression, from low pressure area last Monday as it stayed far from the landmass. PAGASA said Huaning is forecast to continue moving generally north northwest and may make landfall in Ryukyu Islands in Japan later yesterday.
