President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) secretary Rex Gatchalian on Wednesday distributed aid to families in Masbate City affected by Severe Tropical Storm ‘Opong.’
The relief effort provided financial and material support to 600 affected families.
Each family received Php 10,000 in cash aid through the DSWD’s Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program.
In addition to the cash, the DSWD distributed essential supplies, including family food packs, hygiene kits, and water filtration kits to evacuees.
DSWD also prepared and served food using a mobile kitchen during the relief operations. — Malaya News Team
