The Pasig City government launched on Friday, December 13 a free medical checkup services for children in elementary schools as part of the Healthy Pasigueño Child (MBP) Program.
Mayor Vico Sotto said the goal of the program is to provide free medical services to students, teachers, and school personnel.
It is also a way to gather data about the health status of students that can be a basis for implementing additional projects related to improving their health and learning vitality.
Under this project, 28 public elementary schools are beneficiaries and partners of the local government led by the Pasig City Education Department in partnership with the City Health Department.
The program started with an estimated 2,096 students from Kindergarten to Grade 3 of Maybunga elementary school will receiving free medical services in this pilot Implementation before the end of 2024.
Among the services under the program administered by doctors, nurses, and Pasig health aides are vision test, physical examination, X-ray, and complete blood count (CBC).
