THE Food and Drug Administration (FDA) yesterday warned the public against purchasing and consuming an unregistered wine product in the market.

In its Advisory No. 2025-0960, the FDA said the public must avoid consuming “Sol De España Semi-Sweet Red Wine.”

“The FDA verified through online monitoring or post-marketing surveillance that the above-mentioned product is not registered and no corresponding Certificate of Product Registration (CPR) has been issued for it,” said the FDA.

“The FDA warns the general public not to purchase and consume the unregistered food product as it may have adverse health effects on consumers,” it added.

“Since this product has not gone through the evaluation process of the FDA, the agency cannot assure its quality and safety,” it said.

The agency said all concerned establishments are also advised not to distribute, advertise, or sell the said wine.

All law enforcement agencies and local government units are then called to ensure that this product is not sold or made available in the market.

The Bureau of Customs is also urged to restrain the entry of unregistered imported products into the country.
