Former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) undersecretary Roberto Bernardo has been invited to appear before the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) this morning, October 1.
ICI Executive Director Brian Keith Hosaka said aside from Bernardo, DPWH Undersecretary Emil Sadain will also appear before the commission.
Hosaka said the two are scheduled to appear at 9 a.m.
During the hearing conducted by the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee last week, Bernardo tagged Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero, former senators Nancy Binay and Ramon “Bong” Revilla Sr., and resigned Ako Bicol party-list Rep. Zaldy Co in the alleged kickback scheme related to government flood control projects.
Co resigned on Monday as representative. He is abroad supposedly for medical treatment.
Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla stated that Bernardo has been included in the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) “protected witnesses” list following his revelations during the ongoing Senate inquiry.
