EIGHT of the 12 administration senatorial candidates would have won the senatorial elections should the midterm elections be held today, the February 15 to 19 survey of the Social Weather Stations (SWS) showed.
The Stratbase Consultancy-commissioned survey, which involved 1,800 respondents nationwide with a margin of error of ±2.31 percent, showed that ACT-CIS Partylist Rep. Erwin Tulfo is the top choice of the Filipinos for senator with a 45 percent voter preference.
He is followed by re-electionist Senators Christopher “Bong” Go (38 percent) and Lito Lapid (36 percent), former Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto and businessman-media personality Ben Tulfo (34 percent each), and re-electionist senators Ramon “Bong” Revilla and Pia Cayetano (33 percent each).
Also in the top 12 are former Sen. Panfilo “Ping” Lacson and re-electionist Sen. Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa (32 percent each), former Sen. Manny Pacquiao, Makati Mayor Abby Binay and entertainment personality Willie Revillame (30 percent each).
Trailing behind from 13th to 20th place are Deputy Speaker and Las Pinas Rep. Camille Villar (29 percent), Sen. Imee Marcos (24 percent), former Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan (22 percent), former Interior Secretary Benjamin “Benhur” Abalos (17 percent), former Sen. Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino (16 percent), re-electionist Sen. Francis Toelntino (15 percent), and actor Philip Salvador and former Sen. Gregorio “Gringo” Honasan (14 percent each).
