THE Eastern police district (EPD) seized P3.057 million worth of suspected dangerous drugs and arrested 40 persons during a buy-bust operation from January 25 to 31.

Col. Villamor Tuliao, EPD acting director, said they conducted 28 operations that led to the arrest of 40 individuals in different parts of Eastern Metro Manila and the seizure of 449.57 grams of shabu, one gram of marijuana and 0.03 gram of KUSH (high-grade marijuana), along with other drug paraphernalia with a market value of P3,057,646.

Efforts to combat illegal firearms or loose firearms were also successful, with five operations resulting in the confiscation of five firearms and the apprehension of five offenders.

The intensified EPD checkpoints in line with the coming National and Local Elections 2025 resulted in the arrest of two persons for violation of RA 10591, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Act and Omnibus Election Code (Gun Ban).

“We will not tire of hunting down those lawless criminals and eradicating illegal drugs in our area of responsibility. Rest assured that continuous law enforcement operations will be implemented for the safety and security of the public,” Tuliao said.
