THE Eastern police district (EPD) reported a 2.59% dip in crime rate in its area of responsibility last week.
Brig. Gen Aden Lagradante, EPD director, said the data was from September 6 to 12, 2025, in comparison to August 30 to September 5.
Lagradante said that the decline in the crime rate was due to the effectiveness of EPD’s visibility-driven policing.
Key operational accomplishments that have contributed to this reduction were the anti-illegal drugs campaign with 61 operations, 81 arrests and recovery of more or less 345 grams of suspected shabu with a street value of ₱2.34 million;
Manhunt operations with 56 suspects apprehended; an illegal possession of firearms and ammunition operation with 4 arrested; and 18 illegal gambling operations with 30 persons nabbed.
