THE Eastern police district (EPD) said the crime rate in Metro East dropped by 2.15 % from September 22 to 28 compared to the week before.
Brig. Gen. Aden Lagradante, EPD director, attributed the decline to the effectiveness of EPD’s visibility-driven policing.
The key operational accomplishments that contributed to the decrease were in the anti-illegal drugs campaign with 28 operations, 75 arrests and recovery of 101.593 grams of suspected shabu and 10.053 grams of high-grade marijuana or kush with a total street value of ₱626,716.66; illegal gambling with 8 operations, 14 arrests and ₱2,515 betting money seized; loose firearm with 3 operations, 2 suspects nabbed and 3 firearms recovered. Lagradante assured the public that they will not relent in their fight against crime and asked them to report to authorities anything suspicious about a person or activities.
