EPD reports 1.99% decrease in average crime rate

THE Eastern Police District has reported a 1.99% decrease in the average crime rate in its area of responsibility compared to the previous year.

Brig. Gen Aden Lagradante, EPD director, said this was the result of police operations in Mandaluyong, Marikina, Pasig, and San Juan from April 13 to July 15, 2025.

Lagradante has focused on reinforcing police visibility in local communities through innovative crime prevention measures.

Highlighting the notable accomplishments in its anti-illegal drugs campaign, the EPD launched 467 operations that resulted in the arrest of 646 suspects and the confiscation of 4,433.6 grams of shabu, 61.7 grams of marijuana, and 1,530.3 grams of kush, with a total price of P32,452,674.

The EPD also intensified its manhunt operations, ensuring that fugitives do not remain at large. These efforts culminated in the arrest of 57 Top Most Wanted Persons, 69 Most Wanted Persons, and 527 other wanted individuals, totaling 653 arrests.
