Drunk arrested for threatening San Mateo barangay execs

A DRUNKEN man who threatened barangay officials with a gun was arrested and jailed in San Mateo, Rizal before dawn last Tuesday.

Col. Felipe Maraggun, Rizal Provincial Police Office (PPO) director, identified the suspect as alias Joey, a resident of Barangay Pintong Bukawe, San Mateo, Rizal.

Seized from him was a .45 caliber pistol.

Investigation showed that at around 12:30 a.m., Joey went to the Barangay Hall at Pintong Bukawe to ask about a complaint against him that he could not explain due to his drunken state.

He later drew out a gun and pointed it at one of the barangay officials, forcing them to restrain and apprehend him.

Appropriate charges, including the election gun ban, will be filed against the suspect now detained at the San Mateo detention facility.
