ANTI-NARCOTICS operatives arrested a drug dealer and seized two kilos of shabu worth P13.6 million in an operation in Iligan City.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) identified the suspect as alias Salik, 28, a resi-dent of Marawi City who is described as a “high-value target” in the campaign against illegal drugs.
Salik was arrested by PDEA operatives, in collaboration with PNP units, in a buy-bust operation at the parking lot of a fast-food restaurant in Barangay Tubod.
Salik’s cohort, identified as alias Jan, managed to escape.
Seized from Salik’s possession were two tea bags, labelled Guanyinwang, containing two kilos of shabu; the buy-bust money; and two paper bags.
PDEA conducted a follow-up operation at the residence of alias Jan in Barangay Bagong Silang, also in Iligan City, leading to the seizure of an additional five grams of shabu worth P34,000.
“However, the suspect remains at large,” PDEA said, referring to alias Jan.
Salik will face charges for violation of Section 5 (sale, trading, administration, dispensation, de-livery, distribution and transportation of dangerous drugs and/or controlled precursors and es-sential chemicals), Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
