THE Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is set to hold a two-day special job fair for workers in the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) industry later this month at the SM Mall Of Asia in Pasay City.

In a social media post, the DOLE – National Capital Region (NCR) announced the special job fair for would-be displaced POGO workers from November 19 and 20 at the SM MOA Music Hall.

“There will be another DOLE job fair meant for POGO workers affected (by the ban),” said DOLE-NCR.

“Do not miss this opportunity as you could be the next one to get hired-on-the-spot (HOTS),” it also said.

The DOLE-NCR said interested individuals are encouraged to pre-register online via https://tinyurl.com/projectdapat.

It likewise said jobseekers should prepare their resumes and other pre-employment documents before going to the job fair.

Last October, the DOLE held simultaneous special POGO job fairs in Parañaque City and Makati City, which were participated in by 108 employers which offered 13,744 employment opportunities.

Only 340 POGO workers registered to participate in the special job fairs, with 33 being hired-on-the-spot.

The holding of special POGO job fairs is in accordance with the directives to DOLE to find employment opportunities for Filipinos who stand to lose employment due to the ban on POGOs.

DOLE data showed that affected POGO workers at risk of becoming jobless is pegged at 79,735 Filipinos and foreigners.
