DMW warns vs call center job offers abroad

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) on Tuesday warned the public against taking job offers to become call center agents in other countries.

In a social media post, the DMW said the public should disregard such job offers usually done via social media as this could result in them being recruited as scammers.

It noted that such recruiters usually deploy their victims to Thailand, Singapore, or Vietnam as on-the-spot tourists.

“They are eventually brought to Cambodia, Myanmar, or Laos to work as scammers,” the DMW said.

Instead of falling for such overseas job offers, the Department urged the public to always check their validity with the DMW.

The DMW also said such job offers may be reported via email (airtipinfo@dmw.gov.ph) or to the Facebook page of the DMW Anti-Illegal Recruitment and Trafficking in Persons Program.
