DAYS after she died in Israel, overseas Filipino worker (OFW) Leah Mosquera is back home in the Philippines.
In a social media post, Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac disclosed that the remains of Mosquera have been successfully repatriated.
“Slain Israel OFW Leah Mosquera has returned home,” said Cacdac.
Earlier this month, the Philippine Embassy in Tel Aviv announced the death of Mosquera at the age of 49 years old.
She was one of the four Filipinos wounded and hospitalized in the City of Rehovot, Israel, due to Iranian missile attacks last June 15.
Mosquera was hospitalized at Shamir Medical Center and was initially declared stable, though still with oxygen and ventilator support.
According to Cacdac, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) are committed to providing local transport, funeral and burial expenses, and financial assistance to her family.
