The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) has assured assistance for the family of an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) killed in Kuwait as it vowed to seek justice for her death.
In a brief statement, the DMW said Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac assured the family of Dafnie Nacalaban of this when he visited the family on Saturday.
“We are in communication with the family and have assured them of our full assistance and services during this critical time. We also ensured that justice is delivered to our slain OFW and her family. We express our profound sorrow over the tragic death of a domestic worker,” said Cacdac.
Nacalaban was reported missing by her employer last October 16.
In late December, she was reportedly found in a decomposed state in a Kuwaiti national’s backyard.
The DMW said the primary suspect is currently in custody of Kuwaiti authorities.
“Our legal team in Kuwait is closely coordinating with the local authorities in the ongoing investigation,” said the DMW.
