THE Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) yesterday warned the public against unscrupulous individuals who aim to illegally solicit money by claiming to be Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac.
In an advisory, the DMW said the public must be cautious of recent scams involving individuals or groups falsely using the names of high-ranking government officials, including Cacdac.
“These fraudulent schemes typically aim to solicit money, offer fake employment opportunities, or promise expedited processing of documents for overseas employment,” said the DMW.
“The DMW emphasizes that it does not solicit money or provide unauthorized services through unofficial channels,” it added.
The department said the public must always base their information on official lines of communication.
“We urge everyone to verify information only through the department’s official platforms,” said the DMW.
This may be done through the DMW central office and regional offices via official emails or send inquiries to feedback@dmw.gov.ph.
Direct messages can also be sent to the official and verified DMW Facebook page.
The DMW said the public may also avail of immediate assistance via the DMW Public Information Assistance Center hotline numbers: (02) 8722-11-44 and (02) 8722-11-55.
