DEPARTMENT of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Ivan Uy has resigned from his post, which President Marcos Jr. accepted yesterday.

Communications Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro, in a message to the media, said an officer in charge would temporarily head the DICT until a replacement for Uy is appointed.

“DICT Secretary Ivan John Uy’s resignation was accepted by the President today, Thursday. An OIC will fill the position until the President appoints a secretary,” Castro said.

She did not mention Uy’s reasons for stepping down or who would be the OIC.

An online news report said DICT Undersecretary Jeffry Ian Dy may temporarily head the agency until a permanent secretary is named.

There were also reports that Sen. Grace Poe, who is set to end her second consecutive term in June, may be tapped for the DICT position.
