TEACHERS and non-teaching staff will start getting their P20,000 Service Recognition Incentives (SRIs) starting this Friday, Education Secretary Juan Edgardo Angara announced yesterday.
Angara said the department has begun processing the requirements for the disbursement of the SRI in compliance with the directive of President Marcos Jr.
The President issued Administrative Order No.27 last week granting a the one-time SRI to civilian personnel in national government agencies, military and police personnel, fire and jail personnel under the Department of Interior and Local Government, and personnel of the Bureau of Corrections, Philippine Coast Guard, and National Mapping and Resource Information Authority.
Workers eligible to get the monetary incentive are those who have completed four months of satisfactory government service as of November 30, 2024 and are still actively employed by the government.
Workers who rendered less than four months of satisfactory service as of November 30 will be entitled to a pro-rated SRI.
Angara said: “This is a historic moment for DepEd, as we are able to grant the highest SRI ever for our workforce. We are deeply grateful to President Marcos Jr. for his steadfast support in prioritizing the welfare of teachers and staff who serve as the backbone of the education sector.”
“We also thank DBM (Department of Budget and Management) Secretary Amenah Pangandaman for working with us to provide this incentive to our personnel. It is a testament to how much we value the dedication and sacrifices of our education frontliners, especially as they continue to ensure learning excellence amidst all challenges,” he added.
Angara said the funding for the SRI will be downloaded to regional offices on December 20 for immediate disbursement.
