ELECTIONS chairman George Garcia yesterday said the Commission on Elections (Comelec) will pilot test the “Register Anytime, Anywhere” program in the National Capital Region (NCR) when voter registration resumes next month.

Garcia said in an interview: “We will conduct anywhere, anytime voter registration here in the NCR for its pilot testing.”

“Expect us to conduct voter registration in selected hospitals, call centers, transport terminals, airports, and other public places. We will have the registration even at night,” he added.

The Register Anywhere Program was previously used in previous voter registration periods in Metro Manila and other select areas.

Garcia said the pilot testing in the NCR is in preparation for the program’s possible full implementation in the future.

“Once we have a longer voter registration period, we can adopt this program nationwide,” he said.

Garcia said the “Register Anytime, Anywhere” program will held for only one week, or from August 1 to 7.

“We need the last three days to forward those who availed of the ‘Register Anywhere Program’ to the concerned local Comelec, where they will become registered voters,” he explained.

The Comelec en banc on Wednesday approved the holding from August 1 to 10 of voter registration activities for the forthcoming December 2025 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE).
