THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) yesterday reminded all political parties and party-list groups to submit their Sworn Information Update Statement (SIUS) on or before the August 15 deadline.
The Comelec said the SIUS should be submitted every year to its Political Finance and Affairs Department (PFAD).
Required to submit the updated statements are all registered party-list groups, political parties, coalition of political parties, as well as national, regional, or sectoral party, organization, or coalition.
Under Comelec Resolution No. 10943, SIUS submission is necessary to allow the poll body to ensure that its records contain the correct and updated information relating to the political parties and party-list groups, national, regional, or sectoral party, organization, or coalition in its registry.
The SIUS must contain the full name of the political party, organization or coalition of political parties; national, regional, or sectoral party, organization, or coalition with acronym; their principal headquarters and postal office address, including its branches and divisions, if any; date of registration; and constituency.
They must also include the list of current officers and respective positions; list of elected members in the immediately preceding national and local elections and their respective elective positions; list of members, including guest candidates, nominated for any elective positions and their respective nominated elective positions; and total number of members broken disaggregated by sex.
The SIUS must also have updated contact number(s) and email address(es); as well as information on participation, and results of participation, in past elections.
The Comelec said the SIUS must be submitted in PDF copies to the email address of PFAD, while a hard copy shall be submitted to the department’s office in Intramuros, Manila.
