THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) yesterday reminded all political parties and candidates who participated in the May 12 elections to file their statement of contributions and expenditures (SOCEs) on or before the June 11, 2025 deadline.
Elections chairman George Garcia said they will not accept any SOCEs beyond the deadline.
Comelec records show that as of Monday, only 13 out of the 64 senatorial candidates have filed their SOCEs. On the other hand, among the party-list organizations, 35 out of 154 groups have filed their SOCEs, while only six out of 28 political parties have submitted their financial statements.
For local candidates, only 948 out of the 41,217 who ran for various positions have filed their SOCEs.
Under the law, SOCEs must be filed within 30 days from the date of elections, or until June 11, 2025.
For national candidates and political parties, their SOCEs shall be filed at the Bureau of Treasury Training Hall of the Palacio Del Gobernador Building in Intramuros, Manila, while local candidates shall submit their statements at the local poll office where they filed their certificates of candidacy (COCs).
An electronic copy shall be submitted with the hard copies of the SOCEs when these are filed.
Garcia said the Comelec will not accept SOCE submissions that were sent via registered mail, electronic mail, courier, or messenger services.
