THE Commission on Audit (COA) submitted five audit reports to the Office of the Ombudsman on Monday as part of its ongoing inquiry into alleged irregularities in the implementation of flood-control projects in Bulacan by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
Held liable based on findings of shoddy workmanship, overpricing, underdelivery of construction materials and possible ghost projects were the following construction firms and their officials: Wawao Builders (two projects), St. Timonthy Construction Corp. (two projects) and SYMS Construction Trading (one project), the COA report said.
Also held liable from the DPWH-Bulacan First District Engineering Office were District Engineer Henry C. Alcantara, Assistant District Engineer Brice Ericson D. Hernandez, Project Engineer Paul Jayson F. Duya and Construction Section Chief Jaypee D. Mendoza, it added.
