AGENTS of the Bureau of Immigration arrested a Chinese wanted by Beijing as he tried to flee the country last January 11 at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1.

Reports reaching BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado identified the suspect as Huang Sen, 38, who is wanted by authorities in Beijing for involvement in illegal gambling. Huang was arrested after a BI officer saw his name in the International Police Organization’s derogatory system.

Viado said a Red Notice for Huang’s arrest was issued by Interpol Beijing last December.

He said Huang is at the BI detention facility in Taguig City awaiting deportation.

“He will be deported for being an undesirable alien and placed on our blacklist of undesirable aliens to prevent him from re-entering the country,” the BI chief said.

BI-Interpol Unit acting chief Peter de Guzman said an arrest warrant for Huang was issued by the Public Security Bureau of Luojiang District in Deyang, China on August 27 last year.

The case stemmed from allegations that Huang conspired with other men in the operations of illegal gambling sites on the internet that had online customers worldwide.

The gambling syndicate, De Guzman added, employed more than 70,000 people who induced more than a million Chinese customers into their illegal gambling websites. – With Osias Osorio
