Central Visayas wage board sets public hearings

ANOTHER Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) has opened its annual wage review process, which would lead to an increase in the minimum wage rate.

The RTWPB – Central Visayas set a series of public hearings in Region VII for possible minimum wage adjustments for private and domestic workers.

“Notice is hereby given to the public that the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board – Region VII will conduct a series of Public Hearings on minimum wage determination for private workers and domestic workers,” said the Central Visayas wage board.

Three public hearings have been set for private workers, with the first set on August 19 at 1 p.m. at the DepEd Ecotech Center in Cebu City.

The next one is on August 28 at 8 a.m. at the Bethel Guest House in Dumaguete City.

On August 29 at 8 a.m., the last public hearing will be held at The MetroCentre Hotel and Convention Center in Tagbilaran City.

The public hearing for domestic workers is set on August 31 at 1 p.m. at the Anjo World Convention Center in Minglanilla, Cebu.

The last wage order issued by the Central Visayas wage board took effect on October 2, 2024.

Before the RTWPB – Central Visayas, the National Capital Region wage board and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao wage board issued wage orders.

These were followed by the Calabarzon wage board, which has started a series of public consultations in the region.
