The Cebu provincial government on Wednesday placed the entire province under a state of calamity following the magnitude 6.9 earthquake that struck on Tuesday night.
“The provincial government, through Governor Pamela Baricuatro’s Executive Order No. 57 and a resolution passed by the Provincial Board this morning, has placed the province of Cebu under a state of calamity,” the provincial government said on Facebook.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council earlier said the quake left 26 people dead, of which 19 are in the worst-hit Bogo City.
