AFTER the National Capital Region, workers in Calabarzon are expected to get the next wage order from its Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB).
According to the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC), the RTWPB-IVA is expected to issue the next wage order.
“It (next wage order) is likely in Calabarzon… probably around September,” said NWPC Executive Director Maria Criselda Sy in an interview.
The last wage order issued by the RTWPB-IVA took effect on September 30, 2024.
Proof of this, according to Sy, is that the Calabarzon wage board is holding a blended public consultation for the minimum wage rate adjustment today, Tuesday.
It will be held at the Ouans Worth Farm & Resort in Lucena City, Quezon as well as via Zoom (bit.ly/44Rvn7H) on August 5 at 1 pm.
“The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board IV-A will be holding the first leg of blended regional public consultation on minimum wage adjustments,” said RTWPB – Calabarzon.
Sy said similar public consultations will be held by the Calabarzon wage board in other parts of the region.
She said the series of public consultations will be followed by a public hearing.
“They (Calabarzon wage board) will then do a review and make a decision,” said Sy.
