As Binangonan, Rizal, bagged another Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) award from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) its chief executive vowed to continue delivering the best public service to its constituents.
Mayor Cesar Ynares said conferment of the SGLG is a testament to the municipal government’s dedication to consistently provide better public service to the people of Binangonan.
He added that the local government has been a recipient of the prestigious DILG award for many years, making it the municipality with the most number of SGLG awards during his term.
This year, a total of 714 local government units received the DILG award after being adjudged as compliant in terms of transparency and accountability in their respective governance.
The SGLG, enacted through Republic Act (RA) 11292, is an institutionalized award, incentive, honor, and recognition-based program that encourages local governments to commit to continuously advance and improve in several areas of governance.
To get the SGLG award, local government units must pass DILG assessment in the following areas: Financial Administration and Sustainability Disaster Preparedness Social Protection; Sensitivity Health Compliance and Responsiveness; Sustainable Education Business Friendliness and Competitiveness; Safety, Peace and Order; Environmental Management; Tourism, Heritage Development Culture, and Arts; and Youth Development.
