AFTER being deferred for months, the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) – V has started the ball rolling for the wage review process in the Bicol Region.
In a social media post, the Bicol Region wage board announced the holding of a series of public hearings on the possible wage adjustment for private sector and domestic workers in the region.
“The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board – V invites private sector workers, employers, and kasambahays to participate in the upcoming public hearings on the possible minimum wage adjustments in the region,” said the RTWPB-V.
It said the first public hearing for private sector workers is set on March 7, from 1 to 5 p.m., at the Queen Rose Hall of Robertson Hotel (Villa Caceres) in Naga City, Camarines Sur.
The second public hearing for private sector workers is on March 10, from 1 to 4 p.m, at The Concourse Convention Center in Legazpi City, Albay.
A separate public hearing for domestic workers is set on March 10, from 4 to 6 p.m., also at The Concourse Convention Center in Legazpi City, Albay.
The Bicol Region Wage Board urged stakeholders to participate in the public hearings and share their opinions and concerns about the possible wage adjustments.
“Your participation is vital in shaping policies that ensure fair wages, workers’ rights, and economic stability for all,” said the RTWPB-V.
In November 2024, the Bicol Region wage board deferred the minimum wage determination process in Region V due to the impact of Tropical Cyclone Kristine, which left the region in a State of Calamity.
The last wage order in the Bicol Region took effect on December 1, 2023.
