SENATORS Juan Miguel Zubiri and Joseph Victor Ejercito have thrown their full support to the reelection bid of Sen. Ronald dela Rosa, citing his genuine concern for the people.
“Gusto ko pong i-endorso ang Bato ng Senado, none other than my dear friend, my compadre. Mabait siya, matulungin at talagang action man (I want to endorse the reelection of no other than my dear friend, the Rock of the Senate, my close friend. He is kind, helpful, and an action man). He means what he says. No other than my dear friend, Senator Bato dela Rosa,” Zubiri said.
Ejercito said he is vouching for Dela Rosa as he has seen him work hard for the passage of several measures, including the capability enhancement of the PNP.
“Si Sen. Dela Rosa na mula noong siya po’y chief PNP pa at ako’y nasa Senado, nagkatulong na po kami para mapaganda ang kagamitan ng atin pong PNP. Nagkaroon na po ng choppers, ng mga magagandang sasakyang pangdagat at siyempre iba pang kagamitan (Since he was the chief PNP, when I was already in the Senate, we have helped each other in upgrading the equipment of the PNP by providing it with choppers, and new sea vessels, and of course other things),” Ejercito said.
Dela Rosa thanked Zubiri and Ejercito for their support.
Dela Rosa is running under the banner of PDP-Laban, a political party headed by former president Rodrigo Duterte.
A former PNP chief, he vows to continue the fight against illegal drugs, criminality, and corruption if given a fresh mandate in the Senate.
“I do not want to seek a fresh term in the upper chamber to become a politician, but an individual who will pursue policies that will make the Philippines better and safer,” Dela Rosa said.
