REELECTIONIST Sen. Ronald dela Rosa is confident he would win in General Santos City, where he said he was warmly welcomed by the people during his weekend visit to the city.

Dela Rosa said the “very warm welcome” he received from city residents proves that they are backing his bid for a second term at the Senate.

“Nagpapasalamat tayo sa mainit na pagtanggap at patuloy na pagmamahal ng GenSan sa atin. Nakakataba ng puso na sa kabila ng pagtalikod ng iba sa atin ay patuloy pa ring naniniwala ang mga taga-GenSan sa atin (I would like to thank the people of General Santos City for their very warm welcome and their continued support for me. I’m glad that despite some sectors turning their backs on me, the people of GenSan continue to believe in me),” he said, adding that he placed third in GenSan during the 2019 midterm elections.

Dela Rosa was in the city to participate in the 36th Kalilangan Festival to commemorate GenSan’s 86th founding anniversary last Sunday.

In his speech during the event, Dela Rosa urged the people to choose leaders who have the guts to fight illegal drugs as he expressed disappointment that drug addicts nowadays even post in their social media accounts their videos while using shabu. “Ano ang kinabukasan ng Pilipinas kung hindi tayo kikilos? Kaya naman hinihiling ko sa inyo na pumili tayo ng husto ngayong halalan (What will be the Philippines’ future if we do not act? That’s why I am asking you to choose the right leaders in the coming elections),” he said.
