FORMER senator Paol Benigno “Bam” Aquino will push for the strict implementation of the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) Industry Regulation Act if he lands a slot in the May 12 senatorial race.

Aquino said the law ensures that LPGs sold in the market meet safety standards amid persistent reports that fly-by-night LPG makers and sellers are still active, which compromises the safety of users.

During his first term as senator, Aquino filed Senate Bill No. 713 which laid down the regulations for the safe operations and use of LPGs.

Aquino said he has sought the cooperation of the LPG Marketers Association and a big LPG company to sell quality LPG tanks which are in accordance with the standards set by the government to avoid accidents to users.

“Sinisiguro natin na ligtas ang ating mga bahay gawa po ng maayos na mga produkto (We would like to ensure that all of us are safe while using these products),” he said.
