THE Judicial and Bar Council has opened the application for three vacant positions in the Legal Education Board (LEB).
The LEB is an independent government agency responsible for the regulation of legal education in the country. It was created under the Legal Education Act of 1993.
The three positions opened up after the term of Lorenzo Reyes ended January 14 last year and the terms of Salex Alibogha and Alexander Dumpa ended last January 14.
Reyes served as a regular member of the LEB representing the Integrated Bar of the Philippines. Salibogha represented active law practitioners in the country, and Dumpa, the law students’ sector.
Regular members of the JBC serve for a four-year term with no reappointment. However, ex-oficio members (the Chief Justice, Secretary of Justice, and Congressional representatives) serve as long as they hold their respective offices.
Interested applicants must visit the official JBC website for the complete details and guidelines on the application process.
“Applicants who fail to comply with the mandatory require-ment of submitting an online application through the JBC Online Registration and Application System shall not be con-sidered for nomination,” the JBC added.
The JBC said the deadline to submit an online application is on March 20, 2025 at 4:30 p.m.
